Press release,
Berlin dad builds the app that shows parents how to dress their baby right
Ilya Malyanov made Button for his daughter Michelle. Since 29 September it has been on the App Store.

Berlin, 22 October 2026. When Ilya Malyanov’s daughter Michelle was born, he and his wife Annely started asking one question every morning: what should Michelle wear today? Babies can’t say when they are too cold or too warm. Ilya and Annely watched TikToks, read charts, asked ChatGPT and asked friends. They still ended up in front of the wardrobe, unsure about the next layer.
Ilya has worked as a designer and developer for more than 20 years. “All I really wanted was an answer I could glance at and immediately understand: This is what Michelle needs right now.”

So he built Button. The app looks at what matters for a baby: the feels-like temperature, wind, sun, rain, UV, changes through the day, the baby’s age, whether the baby crawls or walks, where the baby sleeps and which accessories the family uses. Parents open the app and see their baby dressed for the day, in the stroller, the carrier, the car, indoors and at night.
The first versions were never meant for the App Store. Ilya and Annely tested the recommendations with Michelle in everyday life. Friends who had just become parents tested them too, and their midwife Laura brought in her experience. A few months later the morning question had changed. It was no longer “What should Michelle wear today?” It was “What does Button say?”
That is when Ilya decided to share the app. “If Button could take one small decision off our plate every day, maybe it could do the same for other parents too.”
Today, Button is available to every parent. On weatherbutton.com, parents can see for free what their baby needs in the stroller for today’s weather, along with the best hours for a walk. Parents who want to use Button the way Ilya and Annely do can download the app. It adds the baby’s own profile, outfits for the carrier, the car, indoors and sleep, day planning, saved plans and packing lists.
Button has been on the App Store since 29 September 2026, for iPhone and iPad, in English, German, Russian, Spanish, French and Italian. It covers babies and toddlers from 0 to 36 months. The download is free, with seven days of full access, then a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time purchase.
